Upon entering the museum found near the archaeological excavation site, you will be amazed by an exact copy of Nike of Samothraki. The original statue was created by an unknown sculptor in the Hellenistic era, and it was discovered at the Sanctuary of the Great Gods, and depicts the winged goddess Nike. It is part of the Louvre resident exhibition since 1884 and it is just one of the three winged Nikes that were found in the temple. In the Archaeological Museum of Samothraki you will find various finds from excavations that took place in the ancient city during the 20th century.
